This quote resonates with me for many reasons, but mostly because no words could more accurately describe our story. While I (Val), am a perpetual “I can do it all-er”/overachiever, Petite Pas would have never grown into the beautiful ballet school it is today without the help of our sweet Annette.

This is our story:

This is our story:

Months before we opened our doors, Annette and I met for coffee in downtown Delafield. Within the first five minutes I knew we were a match made in heaven, and that with her by my side, my dream for Petite Pas Ballet would quickly become a magical reality.

Annette is the calm force behind our business. I am the unyielding tornado of emotion, ideas and all things glitter, fairytales and magic. I often joke that she is the female version of my handsome (otherwise known as my husband). She is calm, cool, collected, always thinking and constantly rolling her eyes (in good fun) at my grandiose nature. But, mostly, she is the female version of my handsome because she is endlessly supportive and always makes our dream a priority.

Ms. Annette, as she is lovingly called by so many, not only writes (with absolute care, expertise and consistency) our curriculum for all our divisions and themes, but she also graced our studio with her impeccable teaching during the early years. Her husband's job transfer to Chicago no longer allows for her to teach, but she is still involved on an administrative level. She brings as much heart to this business as I do every single day, and her resume is as robust as they come. We are the luckiest to have her on our team.

Our "love" story is simple. In this journey - I discovered a magnificent (and most cherished) team member, a friend who brings so much laughter (the kind that induces tears and a sharp pain to your side) and even after all this time, a sister. Together we make magic for our students at Petite Pas Ballet…and here’s the best part: we are only just beginning.

Meet Our Teachers

Meet Our Teachers

We're a friendly bunch! We want you to feel comfortable leaving your child in the care of our grown-up ballerinas (better known as our teachers). To help you get to know them a bit better, we asked them two questions:

How long have you been dancing? + What do you love about working at Petite Pas?

1. I've been dancing for as long as I can remember.

2. Not only do I get to share my love of ballet with my students, but watching them discover how much they love it too, just fills my heart. I love to see them create and discover the beauty that they make with their movement.

1. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I can remember going to see the Nutcracker and knowing that ballet was all I ever really wanted to do.

2. I love having the opportunity to share my love of ballet with young children. The other day in the middle of class, one of my students sighed and said under her breath to herself "I just love ballet." That made my heart sing!

1. Dance began for me when I was 3 years old in a pink tutu dancing to “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins.

2. Magic. We say it at the end of each class at Petite Pas. As a very new teacher to Petite Pas, I quickly realized was that the magic of Petite Pas came from the people. Magic is the reason I teach at Petite Pas.
