This quote resonates with me for many reasons, but mostly because no words could more accurately describe our story. While I (Val), am a perpetual “I can do it all-er”/overachiever, Petite Pas would have never grown into the beautiful ballet school it is today without the help of the team she built around her.
This quote resonates with me for many reasons, but mostly because no words could more accurately describe our story. It is the team of brilliant teachers and staff members who give their whole heart's to their jobs that makes us who we are today.
Hello! My name is Ms. Valerie and I am the Owner/Founder of Petite Pas Ballet School. This is a mama-owned business, I have two children, Reece (12) and Maddie (16). This is truly a family owned and operated business and we all pour our love into this beautiful studio in one way or another! My husband Sidney is my IT specialist, accountant and mister "build-it-and-fix-it" extraordinaire.
This studio was born out of a desire to provide an age-appropriate early-childhood educational dance experience for the little ones in my community. I felt strongly that it was not necessary to create a rigid and overly strict environment to help students learn proper ballet technique and terminology. In fact, quite the opposite, I felt it was critical to establish a love for the art form through creative movement, storytelling and plenty of whimsy, so that when they do learn the proper ballet technique and terminology it soaks into their minds and hearts. Conformity and rigidness does not have a place at Petite Pas Ballet! I want to see our student’s unique individuality, I want to nurture and encourage it and watch it soar as they grow up in our program. There is a balance where you can accomplish both a mind/body connection to the art form as a whole without suppressing a child’s individuality and creative expression.
We have accomplished this goal with a meticulously designed and written curriculum. We are close to one-decade of providing a most magical dance education program for our students. They are the core of our vision and goals - and we will continue to provide an exceptional ballet education while protecting the innocence, wonder and magic of their youth and imaginations. I alway say the love is in the details, and we pay attention to every detail when it comes to your little one.
Love,
Ms. Val
